Since the beginning of mankind we've longed to break free from earthly bonds like a bird, you know, take to the skies like an eagle or something... But really, flying like a bird, that's only human in a dream – or with tools such as multicopters. The dream of being able to take flight like a bird prompted the famous Italian artist and researcher Leonardo da Vinci to work on the development of mechanical wings as early as the 16th century.
